EDUCATION
University of Pennsylvania (08/2024 - xx/2025)
Master of Science in Education
Focus: Learning Sciences and Technologies
Carnegie Mellon University (08/2016 - 12/2020)
Bachelor of Architecture Degree
Minors: Human Computer Interaction, Media Design
EXPERIENCE
Graduate Assistant/ University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia PA (08/24 - 08/25)
Worked as a part-time Graduate Assitant in the Undergraduate Admission Office at Penn.
• Collaborating on the development and pilot launch of “College Application” on Google Classroom or Canvas, an educational product designed by Penn to empower high school students in navigating college applications, with a focus on scalable solutions that can reach a broader audience. This course will be piloted in high schools that are within the Heights Phildelphia system aiming to help Black, Brown, and first-gen scholars to achieve their goals.
• Preparing user research to gather data for insights from pilot course implementations to iteratively improve the product and meet the needs of diverse students. Curating and building the proper survey questions unit by unit on Qualtrics by thinking through high schoolers’ course experiences and what the results can bring us on improving the course content.
• Coordinating cross-functional communication efforts with internal design and branding teams, outreach efforts, and stakeholder engagement, including non-profit partners and high school collaborators.
• Supporting project management tasks, including organizing and facilitating meetings, managing focus group feedback, and assisting with strategic planning and execution of admissions initiatives.
Project Coordinator/ Corgan Associates, Dallas TX (07/21 - 05/24)
Worked as a full-time Architectural Designer at Corgan’s healthcare studio.
• Participated in designing and assisting with over 50 healthcare architectural projects from interior finish-out and renovation of hospitals, clinics, imaging and administrative spaces, to medical office building expansion and ground-up hospitals.
• Led over 10 comprehensive projects from planning to execution for healthcare architectural projects, developing timelines, resource allocation plans, and risk management strategies that ensured on-time and on-budget delivery, cultivating my ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders with a focus on scalable processes.
• Implemented data-driven decision-making by collecting and analyzing clients’ needs and preferences to identify bottlenecks and optimize design proposals, resulting in higher approval rate of schematic design and therefore higher work efficiency.
• Developed and refined client-facing deliverables that effectively communicate project progress and outcomes, ensuring alignment with client expectations and fostering long-term relationships. Clients include major medical groups such as HCA, UTSW, Children’s Health etc. Utilized different mediums such as animations, renderings, 1-to-1 mockups, plans, and other representation tools to help clients understand the design and any decision making.
• Initiated process improvements within the design and project management workflows leading to an increase in team productivity and on-time deliverables, such as sending out major project deadlines to each stakeholder. Demonstrated the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to continuously enhance deliverables and team performance.
• Collaborated with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and construction to ensure project deliverables met technical specifications and client requirements, aligning different team perspectives and achieving project goals.
• Volunteered as the Cruise Director to organize diverse events supporting local minority-owned businesses, such as plant shops and restaurants, fostering community engagement and awareness about the importance of sustainability via monthly events and meetings.
• Initiated and organized cultural enrichment activities monthly, such as ethnic holiday ceremonies and food tasting sessions, fostering inclusive work environments.
Head of Teacher Assistant/ CMU Digital Media Class (08/18 - 12/20)
• Managed and mentored a team of teaching assistants, ensuring consistent delivery of course content and maintaining a high standard of education across multiple sections.
• Analyzed student performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies, demonstrating a data-driven approach to problem-solving and optimization.
• Led the design and implementation of innovative approaches that improved student engagement, creativity, and learning outcomes, demonstrating a strategic mindset in refining and enhancing students’ learning experiences.
• Implemented a feedback loop system where students could regularly provide input on course materials, which was then analyzed and used to iterate on the instructional content.
Architectural Intern/ O-OFFICE Architects, Guangzhou, China (06/19 - 08/19)
Worked on one main project: reconstruction of a tea factory into a tea cultural complex. Helped in pre-design stage of modelling the exisitng building structure; preliminary spatial design; choosing and finding material supply; curating interior furnitures and lighting.
Architectural Intern/ LGA Partners, Pittsburgh, PA (06/18 - 07/18)
Experienced three concentrations: interior, airport retail, commercial projects. Helped with material boards and interior finishings; Helped prepare RFP(request for proposal) by designing store space and creating material and mood board; Helped design apartments (renovation projects), produce architectural drawings and redline construction drawings.
Intern/ TEAMER ARCH INT’L, Guangzhou, China (07/16 - 08/16)
