BUS RIDER TRACKER | predesign research
In this project, we, teamed up as four, are assigned to figure out the problem of one of the transportation method on campus and ideate a solution in three weeks.
The foucs of this assignment is in preliminary research such as persona building, interviews, and persona rebuilding, storyboards and so on.
After several rounds of research and ideation, we come up with the idea of a realtime mobile app that shows the amount of people on bus.
Since, this is an assignment about research methods, we didn't come up with a protoype.
PROBLEM
When it is at rush hour, CMU students and staff can hardly get on a bus, especially when you are carrying large objects like strollers, groceries, and suitcases. It is so crowded that they will have to waste a lot of time waiting for an available bus.
PROPOSAL
What if there is a mobile app that can track the number of people on the bus at the moment. Then, they can schedule their time more efficiently instead of just waiting at the bus stop.
