LOVE MASK | partner finder
In this two-week design project, we, teamed up as four, are prompted to design based on the sense- hearing.
So, we came up with this project- a future partner finding device that detects the truthfulness of ones' words which are built up as credits and parameters when finding romantic partners.
NARRATIVE
In a technologically advanced society, new dating methods evolved out of the coined “swipe right apps” and personalized platforms, challenging the culture of genuine conversation through the implementation of the new methods.
FindPartner, the newest dating system, aims to provide truthful connection between couples. It advocates that complete honesty is the ultimate secret to healthy relationships. To achieve this goal, FindPartner developed a product that will separate the more truthful and duplicitous people of the society. Even more, the technology has become the chosen method of the government, which recently issued legislature banning other dating methods.
FindPartner distributes its wearable Love Masks after the registration of each individual to the dating platform. The Love Mask is a transparent mask that covers the users' face. It relies upon new technology to translate bio feedback such as heart beat, perspiration, adrenaline level, and tone of voice when its user interacts with others. When the bio feedback does not match the content spoken by its user, the Love Mask detects a lie. In response, the liar's Love Mask gradually becomes more opaque in augmented reality space. Users of Love Mask can visualize this change through an implanted chip, which is installed into the brain after registration. The Love Mask also tracks the Truthfulness Score of its user. Ultimately, people who frequently lie in daily interaction with others will find that their masks gradually become opaque, rendering the user more “faceless” over time. Their Truthfulness Score reflects this change with an increasingly low number.
The Love Mask intends to separate individuals, where those with low Truthfulness Scores wear masks that appear increasingly less transparent (more opaque), making the user increasingly more unattractive to others. The more faithful, authentic person will be separated from the rest and eventually find long, meaningful, truthful relationships.
SYSTEM & STORYBOARD
You first register your information online before you want to find a romantic partner.
Learn how that the device will listen to and judge the authenticity of your daily conversation with others.
You then need to go to a FINDPARTNER LAB to get an implanted chip.
Once implanted, you can see the augmented mask on others' faces and yours through mirror.
When people lie, the opacity of mask goes up. As people lie more and more, their facial appearance will get less visible.
After 3 months of building your reliability credit through daily conversation, you can start finding your romantic half.
You fall into someone that has higher reliability credit by looking at the visibility of his/her facial appearance.
As days go by, you can check your partner's reliability level anytime so that you can decide if you still wants to be with him.
